We are pleased to introduce Dhiraj Shrestha, our Chemist who has been a valuable member of the ICC team for nearly four years. Dhiraj works out of our Oilfield Hub Site in San Angelo, Texas. Originally from Nepal, he moved to the United States to pursue higher education and earned his degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry from Angelo State University. His strong academic background and international perspective add depth and diversity to our team.
When asked about his favorite part of the job, Dhiraj shared that he truly enjoys developing and improving lab methods. “I always like to think there’s a better way to perform any task,” he said. Whether he’s working on a new or existing project, Dhiraj thrives on challenges and doesn’t rest until he finds a solution and sees results. What motivates him most is knowing that his work has helped others.
Dhiraj also reflected on what makes working at ICC unique. He expressed deep appreciation for the culture of acknowledgment and support that defines the company. As an international student joining the team straight out of college, he was initially concerned that his accent or cultural differences might pose barriers. Instead, he found a welcoming environment filled with encouragement and gratitude for his contributions. “I just feel so blessed and thankful to be a part of this ever-growing synergetic culture at ICC,” he said.

Before joining International Chemicals, Dhiraj held a rather unusual job—his first in the U.S.—working at Chick-Fil-A on campus during his freshman year. He recalls the long shifts, fast pace, and the lingering smell of fried chicken after each day. That experience, during a time when he was juggling school, work, and homesickness, gave him a lasting respect for fast-food workers and the challenges they face.
We also learned a few fun and surprising facts about Dhiraj. For example, not many people know that he’s got some secret dance moves; but they only make an appearance after a couple of drinks and only in front of close friends! If he could have any superpower, he’d love to have the ability to print or create anything, real or imaginary, like a “universal printer.”
As a child, Dhiraj dreamed of becoming a doctor, inspired by the idea of saving lives. However, after spending time in hospitals due to frequent illness, his interests shifted. Today, if he had more time, he’d love to pursue professional drawing or art classes, though he continues to teach himself whenever he can. One thing is still high on his bucket list? Traveling the world.
We are grateful to have Dhiraj as part of the International Chemicals team and look forward to seeing all the great things he will continue to accomplish!
